I had an interest in nature and natural things even when I was young, especially in my “hippie” phase of teenage years. In 1998, I moved to London, Ontario with the intention of a career in fashion. After deciding I didn’t want to do fashion design as a “job”, I came upon an advertisement in a paper for “The School of Health and Natural Therapies” that piqued my interest.
In 1999, doing a 180 turn in my choice of post-secondary education, I signed up for the Herbology program where I studied physiology, anatomy, foods and nutrition, iridology, and herbology. On a side note, the school moved in front of my apartment building from across town right before I started classes, so I think it was meant to be! This was where I met Dr. Earle Sweet who taught the herbal portion of the program thus creating a from then to now mentorship and work relationship between us.
After working for a couple of years at Sangster’s Health Food Store in London, I was recruited to help at Dr. Earle Sweet’s lab, The Research Institute for Sayfer Botanicals. I’ve worked for and with Dr. Sweet since 2004 starting as a lab technician compounding herbal tonics for his and his daughter’s, as well as other practitioners’ clients.
It was working at the lab where I was introduced to the EAV Testing system and trained under Dani Sweet until I was ready to take on my own clients. I started working with clients in 2004 while continuing the lab work and haven’t looked back since.
At present, I continue to run the lab alongside Julie Sweet as well as working with clients to aid in making healthier choices and overcoming health barriers, and to maintain a healthier body!
